We are now bi-annual on odd years.

In 2009, we became a bi-annual show on odd years.
We are busy making plans for the 2011 show.  We display over 200 quilts on the store fronts and balconies in charming, downtown Ponchatoula, Louisiana.  If you love traditional patterns; are partial to art quilts; can't get enough of eye popping colors....This is the place for you to be! The Cane Cutters Quilt Guild from Houma is bringing 70 quilts.  It will be a wonderful display of new quilts.   We may set a record for hanging quilts!

We just added a Picture Gallery button.  Click and see all of the fun we had at this year's show.

Guilds who show their quilts as a group can be eligible for our Treasure Chest worth over $500.  One of the items in the Treasure Chest is a Bernina Bernette black sewing machine.  Nice.  Your quilt guild can be eligible to win if you display ten quilts and hang and take them down.  One chance to win per every ten quilts.  We will have helpers to assist you.  Contact Danette Mollere for details.   See contact info below.

All guilds and individual quiltmakers are invited to display their quilts.  Click on the Quilt Entry button for details.  All quilts displayed outdoors will be eligible for the Viewer's Choice Award.

There will be a Fat Quarter Stroll designed by Sheryl Till called "Tea With Marie" which is a lovely 24" x 24" medallion applique quilt with a teapot.  Check out the picture on the FQ Stroll tab.  The price is  $30 and you get nine fat quarters plus one third yard border print plus the pattern.  Great deal.

Our raffle quilt made from ties & scarves from community leaders is Judy Holley's New York Beauty II pattern which we named "Ponchatoula Beauty."

The Community Center (300 N. 5th St.) will feature the Hoffman challenge quilts, a Merchants Mall, and special displays.  The Northshore Doll Club will have an American cloth doll exhibit and will give a talk.  The Camellia Quilters will have a wearable quilt garment display.  Southern Samplers will have a special exhibit celebrating their 20th anniversary.  See quilters hand quilting by the front door all day.  Admission is $5.

Demos by Mama's Quilt Shop, Bright Hopes Quilt Shop, Lisa Wilson, Northshore Doll Club, Nancy Johnston, and the Camellia Quilters.  We have "Mary's Triangle", "String Quilts", "Crazy Patch Quilting", "American Doll slide show", "Cloth Doll Presentation", "Africa Dress Project" and "Sweatshirt Jackets."  Wow.  What a line up!  See schedule below.
All demonstrations are free.

Pat Zieske will be also be on hand to give oral quilt appraisals.

The first 500 people in the Community Center will get a certificate for a FREE month of The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims.  This is a very exciting show that you watch on the internet.  Our thanks to The Quilt Show for providing this gift to us.

Our featured artist is quiltmaker, teacher & designer Sheryl Till.  Using Electric Quilt since 2000, her many designs encompass all quilt types.  Several quilts including Strawberry Stroll, Garden Party and Starry Nights are featured on the EQ website.  Her Amish Sparkler quilt was on an episode of America Quilts Creatively.  Come meet this amazing artist and view her collection of quilts.  The display will be in the Community Center from 9 am to 4 pm.

Vote for your favorite outdoor quilt for the Viewer’s Choice award.  Bring your children between 1pm and 3pm and color a quilt with the Ponchatoula High art department next to the alligator cage.
